Your pool can be properly maintained with any of the filter systems available:

Selecting Filters & Purifiers

Sand Filter

Water is pushed through a bed of filter sand and removed through a set of lateral tubes at the bottom. The concept behind this filter is that water is pushed through the filter sand, dirty water goes in the top and clean water exits out the bottom.

In order to clean the filter, you must “backwash” the filter by running it in reverse and disposing of the waste water. Should the sand ever become really dirty, it is easily and inexpensively replaced. However, in terms of particle size filtered out, sand is the lease effective method – it can allow smaller particles to pass back into the pool.

Cartridge

When using a cartridge filter, water passes through a filter material which captures the debris. They are constructed of durable and corrosion-resistant materials for maximum durability. Cartridge filters are designed to run at lower pressure than sand. This puts less back-pressure on the pump resulting in more flow and turnover for an equivalent pump size. Generally these filters have to be cleaned once or twice a season by simply hosing them off. In terms of particle size filtered out, cartridge is somewhere between sand and DE.

Diatomaceous Earth (DE)

Diatomaceous earth is made of tiny fossil exoskeletons. These exoskeletonsare used to coat “grids” in the filter housing and remove debris as small as 5 microns, returning highly filtered water to your pool. DE filters have a curved grid design that allows for a balanced water flow throughout the filter tank. Choose a DE filter to ensure a crystal clear swimming experience, and exceptionally unique features for simple and effortless maintenance.
